YWPHI Board of Directors Meeting - September 5, 2004

The meeting was held on Sunday, September 5, 2004, in the Clark's backyard. It was called to order at 2:20 p.m. by President Debby Hagan. This meeting immediately followed the YWPHI Annual Meeting during which one new Board member was elected (Kim O'Neil), and Carol Ruiz and Debby Hagan were re-elected to 3-year terms. The terms for two previous Board members (Carol Ruiz and Debby Hagan) had expired, while two Board members have resigned (Linda Andrews and Sharon Haley). One Board vacancy still needs to be filled by appointment.

One copy of the minutes from the July 10, 2004 Board of Directors meeting was submitted by Sharon Haley prior to her resignation. Copies of these minutes will be distributed to the entire Board for review prior to the next meeting. Approval of the July 10th minutes was postponed.

YWPHI Officer and Committee Chair Selection

Volunteers for all offices and committee chairs were requested, and all positions were filled as listed below.

An updated listing of contact addresses and phone numbers for the Board will be distributed by Debby at the next meeting.

Future Board meetings will be held on the following dates at 10 a.m. unless otherwise noted:

The following two expenditure approvals were authorized by the Board:

• 1. An additional $500 to cover costs for improvements to the mailbox shed (such as lexan windows, shelf for mail sorting, and new bulletin board) and replacing/installing the information station map. This authorization supplements a previous $500 approval for the mailbox shed and information station.
• 2. A maximum of $2500 for constructing and installing 3 fire hose boxes at 3 separate locations within Yosemite West, including repair and/or replacement of fire fighting equipment which will be stored inside these boxes.
Ken Wall and Larry Anstead are working on the first item. Todd Yates, Steve Yates, and John Mock are designing/ordering the hose boxes in conjunction with advice from Mariposa County fire personnel.

Kim recommended that the YWPHI Hospitality Committee broaden its scope to extend a welcome to new property owners in the community. The Board approved, and copies of this year's membership dues forms were given to the Committee to distribute when they make contact with new neighbors.

Considering the number of properties which have been sold recently in Yosemite West, the next meeting agenda will include an update of the Emergency Telephone Tree.

Next YWPHI Board Meeting: The next YWPHI Board of Directors meeting will be held on November 6, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Grace Bartel's home. Please notify Debby if you have a schedule conflict with this date.

The meeting was adjourned by President Debby Hagan at 3:15 p.m.
